Mejía Wetlands

Close to the little village Mejía you can find a famous Wetland area. This is the only wetland area in more than 2000 km and a lot of birds are visiting this area on their way up and down the Pacific coast of Latin America. A guide told us that the experts normally are visiting the place in the wintertime (june-august) since this is the best time to see rare types of birds. According to Wikipedia you can find 141 types of birds in the Wetland, 57 of this are visitors.
